The Challenge
EV Everywhere faced mounting demands to deliver a seamless end-user experience in a fast-evolving, fragmented EV ecosystem. Key challenges included:
- Disjointed Data and Experience: Multiple disconnected sources for EV charging locations, trip planning tools, and analytics hindered adoption among Canadian drivers and limited engagement.
- Accelerating Market Expectations: The rise of sophisticated mobility apps set a high bar for real-time data accuracy, intuitive UI/UX, accessibility, and responsiveness across all mobile platforms.
- Siloed Development Cadence: Coordinating a distributed backend team, entrenched in data and service layers, with a newly onboarded frontend squad, necessitated airtight agile project management to maintain velocity, transparency, and quality.
- Stringent Accessibility & Performance Requirements: Mandated compliance with AODA/WCAG 2.1, multi-lingual support (English/French), and optimal mobile performance demanded robust technical rigor and architectural foresight.

1. Frontend Mobile Architecture & Engineering
- Designed and built cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, native SDK integrations, and modern UI paradigms.
- Integrated real-time EV charging station APIs, dynamic trip planners, and personalized usage dashboards.
- Achieved AODA/WCAG 2.1, and French/English parity for national reach.
2. Orchestrated Agile Project Management
- Established a high-cadence agile scrum motion: backlog refinement, bi-weekly sprint cycles, burnup forecasting, and daily syncs with backend engineers.
- Implemented transparent tracking via JIRA, milestone mapping, and continuous release reviews to surface blockers and adapt priorities.
3. Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration
- Facilitated requirements workshops, shared QA plans, and knowledge transfer sessions between Zazz’s frontend squads and EV Everywhere’s backend/data teams to drive unified solution delivery.
- Embedded QA automation and CI/CD pipelines for rapid regression testing and nightly builds.

- Conducted rigorous accessibility/user testing, device compatibility assurance, and iterative usability refinements.
- Provided post-launch stabilization (hypercare), documentation hand-offs, and onboarding for internal EV Everywhere support staff.
