As a household name in health and dietary services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nutrition & Diet Center sought to elevate its digital ecosystem to meet the evolving expectations of a mobile-first, bilingual audience. With services spanning personalized diet plans, virtual consultations, and subscription-based programs, the need for a modern, scalable, and culturally intuitive digital experience became mission-critical.
Zazz engaged as a strategic design and technology partner, delivering a full-spectrum UX/UI redesign, bilingual architecture, and user-centric product transformation across both mobile and web. This initiative spanned multiple iterations, encompassing structural UX fixes, multilingual design compliance, feature roadmap consulting, and design-to-dev alignment—creating a platform built for engagement, retention, and long-term scalability.
The Engineering Impact
A dynamic, dual-language wellness platform built to scale with customer needs.
3X increase in user retention
After redesigning core user journeys for diet planning and appointments
60% faster navigation time

+40% in online consultation bookings
Post-launch of the updated app and e-commerce flow
The Challenge
Nutrition & Diet Center faced a series of layered challenges that are common in regulated health service domains but further complicated by bilingual user bases and legacy infrastructure:
- 1. Fragmented User Journeys and Legacy UX Debt
- The original platforms—mobile and web—suffered from inconsistent navigation, redundant flows, and outdated UX patterns that created friction during onboarding, plan selection, and progress tracking. These inefficiencies directly impacted user engagement and conversion metrics.
- 2. Lack of Robust Bilingual Support
- Supporting Arabic (RTL) and English (LTR) presented significant challenges in layout integrity, responsive behavior, typography balance, and accessibility. The platform lacked a unified approach to multilingual UI/UX and required architectural adjustments to accommodate dual-language support without fragmenting the codebase.
- 3. Poor Retention Drivers and Feature Discoverability
- User drop-off rates highlighted a lack of compelling engagement loops—missing features like personalized nudges, modular onboarding, and streamlined access to high-value services such as nutritionist chats or plan renewals. In-app journeys failed to reinforce user motivation and long-term adherence.
- 4. Design-Development Misalignment
- Handoff processes between design and engineering lacked standardization. There were no centralized design systems, reusable component libraries, or annotated developer assets—leading to visual inconsistencies, code duplication, and rework across sprints.
The Solution
Zazz approached the project as a full-stack design and product transformation engagement, starting with a foundational UX audit and culminating in a fully re-architected, bilingual platform.
1. UX Redesign Rooted in Behavior-Driven Journeys
- We conducted a deep-dive audit into user flows, pain points, and drop-off patterns using heatmaps, journey mapping, and retention analytics. From this, we redefined primary interaction paths—plan selection, goal tracking, and consultation booking—creating frictionless, guided journeys aligned with user intent.
2. Bilingual Design System Built for Scale
- To address RTL/LTR complexities, we developed a modular, language-agnostic design system that supported dynamic layout switching, mirrored interaction zones, and fluid typography rules for both Arabic and English. This design infrastructure ensured consistency across screens, devices, and future feature rollouts.
3. Feature Roadmap Consulting for Retention
- Zazz consulted closely with product stakeholders to define a retention-optimized feature roadmap. This included implementation of behavior-based nudges, habit formation loops, weekly progress visualizations, and personalization via user segmentation. These features were wireframed, prioritized, and validated in agile increments.
4. Production-Ready Developer Handoff
- We provided pixel-perfect, annotated design files with states, edge cases, and micro-interactions documented—using tools like Figma, Zeplin, and Notion. This eliminated ambiguity in handoffs, reduced engineering rework, and accelerated sprint delivery timelines.
The Impact
The transformation delivered measurable outcomes across usability, user satisfaction, and development velocity:
- 45% Reduction in Drop-Offs: Streamlined user flows and personalized journeys directly reduced abandonment during onboarding and subscription stages.
- Full RTL/LTR Parity: The unified bilingual design system enabled seamless content parity, with zero layout degradation across Arabic and English.
- Improved Retention Indicators: New engagement features and progress tracking tools led to increased week-over-week retention and deeper session engagement.
- Developer Efficiency Boost: Standardized assets and systems cut design-to-dev turnaround by 30%, enabling faster feature rollouts and fewer QA escalations.
- Strategic Platform Alignment: Nutrition & Diet Center is now equipped with a scalable, multilingual digital foundation aligned with both regional user behavior and global UX standards.
